Learn to Play

Our learn to play programming has a multi-step class structure that add new challenges each step of the way. The NHL Learn to Play 1 class is our introductory class and comes with it's own set of gear that you get to keep!

Select Teams

Select (A/B) teams will offer a more competitive practice and league experience that are designed for the more advanced player. These teams will typically play in the Pacific Northwest Amateur Hockey Associations "PNAHA" League and compete in their respective state tournament at the end of the year.

Youth/Girls Teams

Our Recreation (C) level teams are USA Hockey sanctioned and play in the Metropolitan Hockey League (MHL) which plays across the Puget Sound. Teams at this level are typically balanced within the association so as to provide competitive play across all teams.

Tier 1/AAA

This is the highest level of youth hockey offered within USA Hockey. Players on these teams will compete on the state, regional and national level. They will receive professional level skill development and gain the tools to help reach their hockey goals.

USA Hockey Registration

Prior to participating in any hockey programs through Kraken Community Iceplex, all participants must acquire a USA Hockey Membership.*

Volunteer Coaches

Youth hockey couldn’t happen without the parents and community volunteers that help with all facets of the game. We have opportunities for volunteer coaches, team managers, score keepers, clock managers and penalty box managers. It's a great way to help out and build friendships and community that will last a lifetime.

Learn more about the volunteer commitments, benefits and training by completing the questionnaire or visiting our Volunteers page.
