Building on three years of successful weekend summits, we are thrilled to present our first-ever six-day event! Skaters and coaches can participate in a wide variety of on- and off-ice classes and workshops, including freestyle training sessions, an exciting Ice Show Performance opportunity and more.

The mission of the Summit is to grow connections, share knowledge and to support the love of figure skating in the Pacific Northwest. This year's Summit will feature Olympian Karen Chen as a special guest coach.

Karen Chen

Special Guest Coach

Karen Chen is an American figure skater and 2022 Olympic Games team event gold medalist, two-time CS U.S. Classic bronze medalist in 2016 and 2017, the 2015 CS Golden Spin of Zagreb bronze medalist, the 2017 U.S. national champion, 2022 U.S. national silver medalist, and a three-time U.S. national bronze medalist in 2015, 2018 and 2021. Chen also competed at the 2018 Winter Olympics and at seven ISU Championships. She graduated from Cornell University in 2025.

Karen Chen stepped away from competitive skating three years ago after the 2022 Winter Olympics to focus on her undergraduate studies at Cornell University. She now shares her passion for skating through coaching during her gap year before graduate school. With years of competitive experience, Karen is dedicated to helping skaters of all levels to discover their love for skating and for them to grow both technically and artistically.

"PRIMETIME"

Presented by Kraken Skating Academy

Grab the remote and take a seat. PRIMETIME is a figure skating ice show that takes you on a trip through seven decades of television's greatest moments — from the black-and-white classics of the 60s to the binge-worthy hits of today. Performed live on ice! 


Ice Show Performance Training

Work alongside incredible choreographers, bond with your fellow skaters, and discover what it takes to build a real production from scratch. In just six days, you'll learn every number, rehearse with costumes and lighting, and step onto the ice for a live audience. This is what performing is all about. 

  • Rehearsals Monday through Friday
    • Each group rehearses for 1.5 to 2.5 hours per day between 2:15pm to 7:00pm (subject to change)
  • Saturday: Full tech run & two live performances
  • Full theatre lighting & on-ice seating
  • Professional show atmosphere with a real audience

Eligibility:

  • Open only to registered Summit Training Camp participants
  • Skaters must attend at least three days of Summit Training Camp

Adult Group Number

Adults have the opportunity to perform in this years ice show.

Ashleyclark

Ashley Clark

Special Guest Performer & Choreographer

Ashley Clark is a three-time U.S. Gold Medalist and the 2016 U.S. Open Pro Champion. She has been performing professionally for over twenty years all over the world with some of the most renowned and well-known shows such as Disney On Ice, Holiday On Ice, Broadway On Ice, Sun Valley On Ice; and on cruise ships with Bietak Productions. 

She grew up training in Colorado and now resides in San Francisco, CA where she still trains and does choreography. Most recently, she was the choreographer for Winter Wonderland On Ice at SeaWorld in 2017, and assisted on the new production of Holiday On Ice, Passion in 2015. She has choreographed programs for 2006 Olympian Emily Hughes and for 2011 U.S. National Champion Ryan Bradley. 

Ashley was the 2014 ProSkaters Specialty Act Champion and the 2011 ProSkaters Ladies Champion. She has served as president of ProSkaters, a not-for-profit organization, from 2007-2013. In this capacity, Ashley dedicated her time to helping aspiring professional skaters. She graduated in 2017 from the International Institute of Nutrition as a Holistic Health coach, and most recently added Aerial Yoga teacher certification to her wellness program. She is thrilled to be here debuting her new act, Fire & Ice, at Ice Chips.

Chad Goodwin

Kraken Skating Academy Director

Goodwin joined the Kraken after spending four years as Skating Director for the Vegas Golden Knights. There, he founded their Skating Program, coaching both competitive skating and power skating for the Jr. Golden Knights hockey program. Goodwin brings with him nearly ten years of experience developing and implementing figure skating, power skating, and Learn to Skate programs. He is a committee member with U.S. Figure Skating for the Aspire Program, an ISI Certified Program Director, PSA Registered Program Director, and holds a PSA Certified Rating in Freestyle.

A professional figure skater himself, Goodwin is a four-time Canadian National Competitor and three-time Sectional Champion. He spent seven years skating with Bietak Productions and Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines.

In addition to his duties with the Kraken, Goodwin serves as the Membership Chair for Learn to Skate USA.

Sarah Berkshire

  • Started skating when I was 10 years old in Anchorage, Alaska
  • Levels/abilities coaches: Basic Skills through Pre-Free Adult and Youth. Moves in the Field Synchronized Skating. Off Ice Strength and Conditioning.
  • Coaching Philosophy: My background as a physical therapist allows me to have an unique perspective on body alignment and movement patterns and help correct these during lessons.
