The Seattle Kraken and the City of Kirkland are collaborating to build Kraken Iceplex Kirkland and Kirkland Community Center opening fall 2027. At the former Houghton Park and Ride site, the facility will feature two NHL-regulation ice rinks, a restaurant, Kraken Team Store and a community center.

BENEFITING COMMUNITY
This project brings recreation, economic development and public amenities with no new taxes to Kirkland. Soon to be the city's largest community center, it will provide year-round access to sports, recreation and wellness for all ages.
- The restaurant will bring dining to an area with few options.
- The amenities will attract visitors and tournament guests who will support nearby businesses.
- Local jobs will be created, requiring a variety of skill sets from customer service to skating to Zamboni driving and more.
GROWING THE GAME
Since opening the Kraken Community Iceplex in Northgate in 2021, the growth of skating and hockey programs at the Iceplex have exceeded expectations, creating strong demand for additional ice time. The Northgate location's success in ice sports and community impact serves as a model for the Kirkland facility.
Youth and adult programs will expand across the two rinks in Kirkland, providing more ice time for more programming and more people. Programs will feature: Kraken Skating Academy's Learn to Skate and Figure Skating programs; Kraken Youth Hockey Association's Learn to Play classes and Jr Kraken hockey; Kraken Hockey League's adult hockey classes and leagues, and public ice skating and private ice events.
