Skating & Skills Development
To continue to develop the game, clinics and camps for players of all ages and skill levels will be available throughout the season focusing on areas such as:
- Power Skating
- Shooting
- Stick Handling
- Position Specific Training
- Game Sense and Hockey IQ Training
Participants will try new techniques, fine-tune existing skills, and be challenged with new approaches under instruction from our highly qualified coaches.
Goalie Development Series
Weekly goalie clinics are offered for full, part-time and newly starting goalies. Each class will have a skill theme such as:
- Edges
- Head Tracking
- Stick Saves
- Positioning
- Recovery
Concepts are universal and will progress in difficulty/build on previous knowledge.
Private Lessons
Kraken Community Iceplex is excited to offer private individual and group hockey lessons open to all players (youth & adult) that have graduated from a Learn to Play hockey class.
- Individual lessons consist of 1-4 players that skate for a 30-minute session each week.
- You will have to option to choose one of our Kraken approved coaches through DaySmart.
- Coaches will create a development plan for the 8-week program once a time slot is booked.
- Players must have graduated from beginner hockey to register.
Hockey Camps
Camps will offer a unique, fresh, and fun training opportunities. Participants will have the chance to try new techniques, hone existing skills, meet new kids, and learn from our highly qualified instructors.

- Login or create your DaySmart account and go to the gift card dashboard linked below.
- There is a minimum amount of $15, but you can also create custom amounts by editing the “Amount” field.
- A redemption code will be sent to both you and the recipient via email.
The purchaser must have an account with DaySmart to purchase and assign to the recipient. Gift cards are valid for Iceplex programming only and are NOT redeemable at the Kraken Team Store, 32 Bar & Grill or Starbucks.
