Skippers Development Program

Mission

The mission of the SKIPPERS development program is to foster learning, teamwork and sportsmanship for eligible KSA skaters interested in becoming a skating coach, skating director, or pursuing other opportunities within figure skating.

  • Skippers must be ages 12 – 17 
  • Must be a current KSA USFS member 
Roles

ROLES  

Apprentice positions: 

  • Learn to Skate Coach 
  • Emerald Edge Coach 
  • Off-ice Coach 
  • On-ice FS Group Class Coach 
  • Program Management  
RESPONSIBILITIES

RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Be on time and show up for classes and events that you are registered for
  • Follow and support KSA on-ice etiquette
  • Show enthusiasm for KSA programming and fellow members
TEAMWORK OPPORTUNITIES

TEAMWORK OPPORTUNITIES 

  • Assist in organizing fun program events and activities 
  • Recognize fellow KSA skaters in achievements and competitions 
  • Support younger skaters through being a positive role model and showing outstanding sportsmanship
