Tier 1/AAA Tryouts

March 31 - April 4 | Kraken Community Iceplex

The Jr Kraken are proud to offer Tier 1/AAA hockey opportunities for the 2026–27 season at the 14U, 16U, and 18U age divisions. Our Tier 1 program is designed for highly motivated players seeking a competitive, development-focused environment that prepares athletes for the next level of hockey.

Tryouts will take place March 31 through April 4, with all on-ice sessions held at Kraken Community Iceplex.

All players are required to register and pay the tryout fee ($250) prior to participating in any on-ice sessions. No refunds will be issued once tryouts have begun. Tryouts will be conducted by KYHA staff coaches and qualified non-parent evaluators.

By registering, players are expected to attend tryouts with the intention of accepting a roster spot if selected.

Tryout Process

• All players are guaranteed two on-ice sessions with their registration.

• Players will receive a numbered pinnie upon check-in at their first ice session.

  • Please bring a blank jersey (no logos) to wear underneath the pinnie. A white jersey is preferred.

• The evaluation staff will conduct rounds of releases during the tryout process.

  • The first release will occur after each age group’s second session.

  • Pinnie numbers of players invited to continue will be posted online following that session.

• Following the final on-ice session, players invited to join a team will be required to submit a USA Hockey player release form (if transferring from another association) prior to completing season registration.

• Please note that final team rosters may not be announced for several days following the conclusion of tryouts.
