KRAKEN HOCKEY LEAGUE

This rec league divides its 100+ teams across divisions 1-8 and sub-divisions A-D based on skill level. We're pleased to have teams who have been playing with us for 20+ years and are equally excited to welcome new teams at any time in the season.

THREE WAYS TO JOIN

  • Players form a team and designate a captain to register the team.
  • Individuals can register as free agents and will be placed onto teams through a player draft that precedes each season.
  • Join our 40+ draft league as an individual player offering a shorter season commitment.

The league will help Team Captains determine placement in a division and will continue to monitor game play and move teams accordingly throughout the season to ensure parity across the divisions.

Evaluation Skates for New Players

There are 3-5 complimentary evaluation skates scheduled for the beginning of each season. New players should only attend one session.

Each evaluation skate will include skills demonstrations in skating, shooting, and passing followed by a light scrimmage.

Please register as a new player and purchase your Kraken Hockey League Player Pass + USA Hockey Membership prior to attending an evaluation skate.

If you miss the evaluation skate window, we will accept new players during the season. Please contact us to schedule a time to help us determine how to best place you.

Movement within Divisions

Kraken Hockey League will make best efforts to place players in an appropriate division based on the season-start evaluation skate sessions. However, teams and players may move up and down throughout the season based on performance or upon request.

Most beginners and teams move up a division after one year as their individual and/or team skating and skills improve.
